A Thank You to Qurate Retail Group’s Team Member Resource Groups
A Message from Mike George, President and CEO, Qurate Retail, Inc.
April 1, 2021: April is Celebrate Diversity Month, a time to reflect on and appreciate the rich diversity of our collective identities, cultures, backgrounds, and experiences that make us who we uniquely are. At Qurate Retail Group, our journey to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion continues, and we are grateful for the incredible commitment and work of our team member resource groups (TMRGs) – for their support and insights as we progress on this journey together.
In this celebratory month, we want to thank everyone involved in TMRGs – from our active participants to those who are simply listening and learning. A special thanks to our TMRG leaders, who have taken on volunteer roles ranging from Culture Lead to Communications Lead to Career and Development Lead – on top of their regular jobs with us. Since the beginning of 2021 alone, our TMRGs have presented dozens of learning and engagement opportunities for team members, including executive Q&A sessions, external speakers, virtual museum tours, listening sessions, and more. They are also supporting critical recruiting efforts to build more diverse candidate pipelines and are helping our brands evolve our product mix and programming to connect with a broader consumer base.
This is diversity in action. Through our TMRGs, more than 800 team members globally are working together to make a difference for each other, for our team, for our customers, and for our communities. They are ambassadors for and enablers of the change we want to see toward a more dynamic, inclusive, and innovative culture that welcomes all (outlined in our diversity, equity, and inclusion goals and commitments).
In the video above, several team members share their thoughts on the importance of TMRGS and the role they serve in celebrating diversity and fostering a culture where we can be our true selves at work. We have 11 TMRGs across our U.S. brands and locations, and work is underway to introduce TMRGs across our international markets and in operations. Our newest TMRGs in the U.S. are our Asian American and Pacific Islander TMRG and our Balance TMRG, a group supporting parents and caregivers. Each TMRG is inclusive and open to all team members, including those who identify as members of the community and those who are interested or want to learn more and/or be allies.
At Qurate Retail Group, we all come to this DE&I journey from different places, but it is a journey we are taking as one team, firmly rooted in Our Principles. We are urging all team members to take advantage of the incredible opportunities offered by our TMRGs to learn more in a safe space – regardless of knowledge or expertise – with curiosity and an open mind. Our goal is to learn and grow together.
