“Beauty with Benefits” Named Finalist in Shorty Social Good Awards
November 4, 2019: Earlier this year, QVC, HSN and Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) joined forces once again to raise awareness and funds for women battling cancer through “Beauty with Benefits,” a beauty sales event in which 80% of the purchase price of donated merchandise benefitted Cancer and Careers, an organization that empowers and educates people with cancer to thrive in their workplace. In recognition of the event’s impact, QVC, HSN & CEW Presents Beauty with Benefits has been selected as a finalist for the prestigious Shorty Social Good Awards in the fashion, beauty and luxury category.
This international awards program honors the impactful work organizations are doing to make the world a better place. Beauty with Benefits is among other notable campaigns vying for the award, including those from Dove, Sperry, CVS Pharmacy, Sheisedo, and the Runway of Dreams Foundation. Winners will be announced during a live ceremony on November 14, 2019 in New York City.
Beauty with Benefits kicked off digitally on April 1, with special broadcast events on April 25. The broadcast event aired live on both QVC and HSN featuring different beauty products on both shows, while highlighting the work of Cancer and Careers and the stories of survivors. Additionally, this year, QVC and HSN partnered with several social media influencers to promote the event, many of whom had their own experience with cancer, including one who fought a personal battle and another whose mom fought the disease.
Through these efforts, QVC, HSN and CEW are on track to deliver more than $2.2 million to Cancer and Careers for 2019, increasing the total amount of funds raised to over $9.5 million since 2013. This extraordinary event truly proves that a little makeup can make a big difference.
