Qurate Retail Group Joins Time to Vote
Voter turnout in the US is among the lowest in the developed world. While this year has the added challenge of COVID-19, one of the most common reasons people give for not voting is that they are too busy with the demands of life and work.
Qurate Retail Group wants to help change that. We are joining more than 1,000 companies in Time To Vote, a nonpartisan, business-led initiative to help ensure that workers across America don’t have to choose between voting and earning a paycheck. As part of this effort, we are taking the following steps:
- We are asking teams worldwide not to schedule any meetings involving U.S. team members on November 3.
- If a team member is unable to vote outside of work hours due to scheduling, in states that don’t already provide for paid time off for voting, we will provide full-time, regular status team members up to two hours of paid time off to vote in person on November 3, if they are eligible to vote and choose to do so.
- We are recommending that all eligible team members check their voter registration and learn more about voting by visiting NationalVoterRegistrationDay.org, Vote.Org or USA.gov.
